Even the most experienced flower gardener is unlikely to be able to immediately name more than ten varieties of plants of the family of "succulents".Probably in every house one can find a bush aloe some kind of cactus, flowering or medicinal kalanchoe, and, of course, very popularmoney tree. Some types of plants from the family of fattening and molluscs can equally be attributed to succulents. In fact, in each species of plants there are representatives of the succulents, only to notice the characteristic features for them is possible only during the maturation of the plant.
One of the most vivid and unique plants of the succulent family is eheveryy Lau, which got its name on the name of the scientist discovered this plant. In some sources you can find a different name - Luch's echo, both names are correct and belong to the same plant. Eheveria belongs to the family of fattening, and is represented by a multitude of varieties - "graceful eheveria", "eheveriya agavovidnaya", "eheveriya gorbatotsvetnaya" and many others. Each kind is attractive in its own way, care for them does not have any special differences.
Eheveriya Lau is the most original of all kinds of echoes. The leaves are collected in a socket, the stem is short or almost absent. The sheets themselves are wide, oval, up to 6 centimeters in length. The leaves are covered with a wax film, like the flower peduncles, the flowers are small, dark pink.
Under natural conditions, echo can be found in Mexico's open spaces, where, under high temperatures, it grows on rocky mountain gorges. At home, this representative of hot countries also feels good and looks great, and with proper care pleases with flowers.
Occasionally, Lao's echoes are confused with the plant, "newlyweds", commonly referred to as "winter roses".Despite the external resemblance, these plants are completely different. Eheveria - a houseplant, needs a high temperature of air and a certain level of humidity, blossomed - a garden flower, it is easy to tolerate a low temperature, and may be wintering on a flowerbed.
Care at Home
There are no special requirements for echo care, just remember to handle it with extreme caution. Each leaf is covered with a thin shell, in the form of a wax film of a bluish-gray color, the shell absorbs and saves water and nutrients. An easy touch to the leaves destroys the shell, and the plant begins to get sick. If such an incident occurred to the plant, it should immediately be placed under a glass dome or covered with a transparent package, until fully recovered.
The vegetation period in eheveryery lasts until the end of October, and begins in early spring. During this period, the plant should receive a lot of sunlight, the temperature in the room may be higher than room. Also, the plant needs regular irrigation, fertilizers must be fed at least once a week. In the wintertime, it's best to place the echo sound in a room where the temperature is maintained at about 15 degrees; in such conditions, it is necessary to water the plant approximately once a month. If the air temperature in the room is higher than necessary, it can be watered twice a month, but only after the drying out of the earthen coma.
Soil. The most qualitative result of growth and flowering show plants planted in a soil mixture consisting of 1 part sand, 2 parts of crushed stone and 2 parts of compost. The drainage layer must correspond to the volume of the pot and the soil, since the stagnation of water during irrigation can provoke diseases of the root system.
Reproduction of ehevery is a rather complicated process, it multiplies by seeds, leaves and rooting of the tops.
The most difficult way is seed propagation. During the flowering of the plant, the flower gardener must independently bloom the flowers, after which carefully observe the maturation of the seeds and timely collect them. Succulent soil is the most suitable for seeding. The seeds are laid down on the surface of the earthen coma, and nothing is squashed. Seal capacity to put in a sunny warm place( air temperature 25-30 degrees), humidity should also be high. Consequently, to sprout seeds of ehevery, better in containers, having a transparent lid and a good drainage system. Propagating this plant in this way is quite difficult, and sometimes the result is not pleasing, but if you follow all the recommendations correctly, you can grow a lot of germs.
Produce eheveryery leaves can be under the same rules as seeds, the soil should be sour, planted leaves covered with a transparent dome and placed in a warm place, do not forget to maintain a level of humidity. To rooting the leaves will take a lot of time.
Reproduction with rooting is carried out at the time when the lower leaves of the plant dried up and disappeared, the stem was bare, and the leaves on the top continue to grow. The upper part of the flower is gradually inclined, and the decorative form suffers. At this time, you need to cut off the tip and root it in the same way as the leaves.
In natural conditions, the flowering period of ehevery begins in February, and in the house the plant blooms later - approximately in April. In the period of flowering, eheveria attracts a lot of attention, the flowers look not real, and every person tries to touch her, but always need to remember her fragility and defenselessness.
