The animals were brought from everywhere, from Germany, Denmark, and Holland, to the kolkhozes of the central regions of the USSR, first of all Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.

High milk production has been formed thanks to centuries-old breeding efforts of Dutch breeders. After all, they always focused on the quantity and quality of milk, not paying particular attention to the meat quality of the cow.

Dutch livestock has been particularly intensive in the last 140-160 years. Prior to this, the cows of the Dutch breeds were excessively ground for dairy production. The weak skeleton, thin skin, weak muscles, now, the cows of the Dutch breed strengthened, muscles increased, the bones became thicker and stronger, all this positively affected not only their health but also meat qualities. Some 60 years ago, cows of the Dutch breeds were still very fragile and unstable, but now they are powerful, healthy animals, which for all this did not lose their milk qualities too much.

Milk productivity of thoroughbred cows of this breed is more than 4400 kg, while milk has a high fat content, more than 4%.

The record for beating was recorded at the home of cows of this breed in the Netherlands, the cow Sneeker gave 11,208 kg, while the fat content of milk was 4.16%.

Cows of the Dutch breed, which differ in their speediness, cows after six months after birth, have a weight of about 160kg, half a year the weight doubles. The first insemination occurs at the age of one and a half years. Adult individuals have a weight of 540-560 cows and 850-900 bulls, respectively. Born calves weighing about 40 kg The slaughter rate of the usual cow will be 51-53%, in specially fed animals will be significantly higher, up to 60%.

Now the activity of breeders is aimed at increasing the fat content of milk. It is worth noting that the highest hopes and good quality milk, cows of the Dutch breed, will provide their masters, only in the case of a properly balanced diet.
